Leroy Thompson – Instructor

Recondo is honoured to have Mr. Thompson available this year as our primary instructor. Students completing his seminar should have enough knowledge and skills to be able to fit in as a security contractor with teams now working overseas.
Military career -An officer with the US Air Force Combat Security Police, Ranger – trained unit assigned to recon and ambush around US air bases in Vietnam. Worked as an exchange officer with a British regiment.
Police – worked through under graduate school as a deputy sheriff. Police commission last 20 years as trainer and advisor to local, state and federal agencies.
VIP Protection – worked on protective details on five continents including for Royals, oil ministers, diplomats, industrialists, etc. Has trained military, police and private protection teams all over the world, including those for heads of state, and has had contracts to train USAF and US army general officer protective teams. Has trained hostage rescue, counter insurgency, and close protective teams for law enforcement and military in the USA and around the world.
Writing – staff member with Combat Handguns, SWAT and Tactical Knives magazines. Author of over 1000 magazine articles and 33 books including the Manual of Bodyguarding.

Randy Pysyk – Recondo Provincial Captain for Alberta
 
After a life threatening accident a few years ago Randy has been given a new direction in life. Recondo has become a major focus of Randy’s free time. Going from a bed ridden invalid to a rappelling dare devil is quite the journey.
Prior to his accident Randy was active as a Kick boxer and a student of Kenpo Karate. Karate may be lost to him now however big game hunting and other outdoor activities keep him busy.
